#CellularIoT revenue last year was ~3%, it's cute. But this is going to grow
rapidly; after all Nordic invested USD$100M+ into this new product (the
#nRF9160), and launched it in 2018. It takes a while for hardware products to
reach production maturity, but it's starting now.

Today I played around with @golioth_iot MQTT
API, and it's very straightforward to start sending in data. The have storage
that represent a digital twin, but also historical data, so it's a great backend
option for mostly offline #cellularIoT devices like the #nRF9160.

I took a few days but this is some progress from the summer students project:
getting a display connected to the
@NordicTweets #nRF9160 produce nice
graphics! The student will publish a blog post about that, soon...

Today in connecting things to the internet using JavaScript: I want to automate
testing @bifravst on real #nrf9160 devices, so I
need to expose flashing the device and observing device's UART output to the
internet for a CI runner. That's going to be fun!

It's connecting and send data to AWS cloud! Pretty nice and reliable on the
#nRF9160. Cloud connectivity (MQTT+TLS) with the EspruinoWifi reaches it's
memory limit, so there it was not so straight forward.

That small box thing is an active antenna attached to the
@NordicTweets #nrf9160 DK. It speeds up the
time to GPS fix tremendously and allows to get a fix even in problematic
locations like here, close to a wall. Now I no longer need to go outside to
develop the Cat Tracker. 🐈📍
