instead taking a job at a company. I gave him this advice:

It's also the nucleus for a great network of people, your future friends,
cofounders and colleagues.
And, it's super fun. You'll learn so much about your craft, yourself, that
you'll never learn working for companies.
A degree will influence how you appeal to organizations. Even if you have a lot
of experience, candidates with degrees will come first.
Don't give up a chance to change your whole life for some short-lived
opportunity. NO company can guarantee that they exist in 5 yrs.
But more important: we have the privilege of free education, you owe it to our
society that makes this possible to take this chance.
I only studied late, because I got a scholarship which I didn't have to pay back
and my wife was working full time.
The older you get, the harder it will be to get back to University, because the
life style change is not easy. It's a downgrade.
