Here is my observation on network organizations: they will need a new,
full-blown role of The Networker. #futureofwork (ctd.)

The networker will tap into the data feed that is created by project tools,
public communication, status updates and work with this data.
But the will also get to know the people and their ideas, their motivation and
what they are trying to achieve for the customer.
Network organizations are no longer ONE business entity but span multiple
businesses.
The networker also needs to get familiar with partners and what they bring to
the product and how they are achieving their contribution.
This calls for a deeper understanding of the subject matter. The Networker will
be a role that's an especially good fit for comb-shaped ppl.
These are generalists, but with high skills in communication and empathy.
The Networker will be a highly valuable role. Because they create new
opportunities from existing resources.
It's different from classical business development, because that focuses on the
customer facing outside.
Because in a network (like in any big organization) it is no longer possible to
be aware of what is being done all the time.
Their job will be to facilitate connections in the network by looking at people,
projects and communication to find potential for synergies.
