@datenreisender Tweetdeck also does not

@datenreisender I think participating in

I wonder if it is possible to build a decentralized alternative to
http://lanyrd.com/ …
I mean, how can we share structured data, attending info, CfP, news around
conferences in a way that makes it easy to discover,
but does not depend on a central, commercial entity.
@helloanselm Yes, I was just wondering what
tech would be available to achieve that, and if at all. A better lanyrd is
definitely an improvement.
@helloanselm I don't have much hope that they
get it together.
I wrote a post about how to build a professional network if you are early in
your career: https://coderbyheart.com/build-a-professional-network/
@helloanselm Hm, this or https://ipfs.io/
are geared towards 1:1 relationships of content and authors. Content curation is
not solved there.
@helloanselm This needs a way to "announce"
structured content, so it can be discovered by consumers.
@helloanselm We can describe content with
http://schema.org But I have yet to find something for the announcement part.
@helloanselm Yes, I thought about RSS. But
you need to know the URL. How do you find these URLs without Google?
@helloanselm Sure! To hell with it!

@NativeWired
@ryyppy It makes sense to have it for products,
but for consulting there are way to many factors to make that transparent. I
would be careful with offering startup rebates. Not every startup needs c.
@dtanzer I personally never had the need to do
it. And it worked very well because I did have projects w/ startups who paid me
partially in IOUs. And contracts with companies for a way higher hourly rate.
@dtanzer Yes, it's a great way to work with
startups. You don't reduce your hourly rate, or give a rebate. You just postpone
the payment. If the startup is bankrupt, it's your loss. If they survive for 2
years, they had enough time to save for the money (or are hopefully successful).

Lets try the new @firefox for a week. I'll reply
how it goes. >
@firefox FF has a profile manager (lile Chrome),
but you need to start it from the command line in order to manage multiple
profiles:
firefox -P
I use one work personal browsing and one for work.
@firefox TweetDeck works!
@firefox On Linux the No Border window option
removes the OS window bar, which gives you more screen real estate.
Chrome has this via its own right click menu "Use system titlebar and menu".
@RealIvanSanchez How do they work?
Ha, @firefox' container feature lets me have
multiple personas within one account, nice!
https://twitter.com/RealIvanSanchez/status/931088547775483905
@RealIvanSanchez Still needs an
extensions. But it like to have password sync seperate (I use them same
services).
@AnnaMelitta Wir lesen sexististische
Kackscheisse wie @InStyleGermany halt nicht.
@firefox FF has no window control icons in the
tab bar as Chrome has.
I can use Alt+F3 to bring up the KDE window manager context menu or drag the
window with the mouse to the upper border to maximize it, though.
@toggleModal
@firefox I know but it has no maximize window
button. Fullscreen is something else.
@toggleModal
@firefox Yes.
When two of my favorite conferences
(@codefreeze_fi and
@scriptconf) are at the same,
I pick the one that has Saunas.
@toggleModal
@firefox How do I do that? I don't find it there:
@toggleModal
@firefox No, I don't have that.
@toggleModal
@firefox I does, but then I have the menu bar.
Which is not adding a "maximize window" button
@toggleModal
@firefox Thanks for the help anyway! 👌
@toggleModal
@firefox Which OS are you using?
@ddprrt @dtanzer
@codefreeze_fi
@scriptconf
@sebgie Oh, wow. I get back to you about that for
Script'19 ;-)
@toggleModal
@firefox My point is that in Chrome I can hide
the window title bar and still get window controls.
@RidingWolf
@codefreeze_fi Why do you have to emphasize

@firefox Running two profiles at the same time is
a bit cumbersome, since there is no UI for that.
@firefox On Windows I have that!

AWS CloudFront and Lambda@Edge, how do you debug them?
I'm stuck: https://forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=267933
@powtac Quick, because that is what BitCoin is?
@Digitalkapitaen Did you solve it
somehow? I could update the source code of the lambda and update the CloudFront
config from a script, but this would be a horrible solution.
@Digitalkapitaen Thing is, I have exactly
the same output. So it must be some permission problem.
@Digitalkapitaen I'm thinking about
setting a domain cookie via a secret / admin URL and checking this instead.
@Digitalkapitaen In my case it's just for

For me the sentiment of #paytospeak is that as a speaker, I should pay close
attention how accessible it is for other speakers (especially of
underrepresented groups, unexperienced, or low income) to be able to speak at a
certain conference.
An important factor to this is also the economic goal of the conference. There
are many great conference I'm going to which don't ask for insane ticket prices.
#PaytoSpeak also is about creating awareness that we limit diversity in speaker
panels, because it's very easy to chip in the resources to speak at any given
conf as white male with high-income.
We are the easy choice for conference organizers. Think about this privilege!
Harrrrrrdware. Orrrr.
Unfortunately there is no #IoT without it ;-)
@dtanzer Well, a method is just a property on an
object. And you can overwrite everything all the time.
@dtanzer You cannot have two methods with the
same name but different signuatures, either.
@dtanzer One could write an eslint rule that
detects it.
