@NordicTweets I agree that the device should
send the raw GPS data (which we do in newer examples like in the cat tracker
firmware), and leave unnecessary computation to the cloud. I am pushing for this
internally every day, but it's not easy to convince everyone why this is a bad
idea.

@NordicTweets AFAIR the decision to send
NMEA dates two years back when we were sending SIMULATED data from the device,
not using the GPS, so there was no raw GPS data to begin with. In presence of
higher priorities and simplicity in the SDK it was kept as is when using the
real GPS sensor.
