https://www.flare.no is now in the app store and offers users the ability to
send an emergency distress signal to other nearby users. This should prevent
dangerous situations from becoming even worse.

According to the founder the idea came out of the event where a woman was raped
here in #Trondheim 🇳🇴 while thousands of people were just a few meters away. 1
in 10 Norwegian women becomes a rape victim, he said.

I would not have expected that there is a need here. 😮 For instance, when I'm
hiking I see women hiking alone all the time.

The police in Trondheim likes the app. They say that drawing attention will
oftentimes prevent a crime.
